5 Best WordPress Plugins: 2015 Update
There are tens of thousands of WordPress plugins designed to do many different jobs ranging from speeding up your site, providing additional functionality or making it easier for people to see your website. While some plugins can be pricey, requiring a monthly fee, others are offered at no charge. The old axiom “you get what you pay for” comes into play here. While many free plugins definitely perform well, you do have to be careful as some do not function as promised. It pays to do your research. You may be able to cut costs by taking advantage of “free trial” offers from some paid plugin that may offer enough functionality for your application.
You do have to be careful with all of the free plugins out there though because these might not be the most credible. Let’s take a look at some of the best WordPress plugins for 2015.
1. Yoast SEO Plugins
Now, this isn’t quite fair because this is not a single plugin rather a series of them. Yoast has some amazing plugins out there and they have been making them for a long time (in WordPress years anyways). Now, these can come with a pretty hefty price tag. A lot of web developers stay clear of these because they are a little more costly for agencies to use, as compared to something like All In One SEO. The nice thing is though, most of Yoast’s plugins have a free, trial version with enough functionality to use it. You will get more functionality out of the paid version but it is an option for the frugal. Here are some of Yoast’s plugins.
- Yoast SEO for WordPress (Premium
- Yoast Video SEO
- Yoast News SEO
- Yoast Local SEO (such huge opportunity here!!!)
- Yoast WooCommerce SEO
These plugins are great. Yoast is truly a pioneer in the various SEO plugins because most others don’t differentiate the way Yoast does. Most others just offer an “SEO” option but search is so dynamic that you do need these other options.
No piece of content should be out of arms-reach from a social media button. Social media is an absolute business necessity. It just is. Finding that right social sharing plugin just got easier though!
Not only is Elegant Themes the mastermind behind the amazing Divi theme (quite possibly the single most used WordPress theme out there right now) but they also have a powerful lineup of plugins. One such plugin is their Monarch social media sharing plugin. This easily one of the most visually pleasing and easy to use social media plugin. The side-hover option that the plugin comes with along with the in-text option is great.
